Kevin King

Kevin King has had a vibrant legal practice for nearly 30 years.  Kevin's work focuses on banking, commercial transactions, and corporate and general business law, including real estate law and real estate transactions.  Kevin has extensive experience in the formation of business entities and the handling of both basic and sophisticated asset purchase and sale transactions.  Kevin has previously served as General Counsel for Pulaski Bank of St. Louis and is currently General Counsel for St. Louis Bank.

Kevin previously served as General Counsel to the Attorney General of the State of Missouri for three years and gained an insider's view to governmental regulation.  Kevin brings this experience to bear when representing clients in state and federal regulatory matters.  Kevin has also dealt with zoning matters for a variety of clients.  He currently serves on the Civil Service Commission for the City of Crestwood, Missouri.  Kevin's professionalism and dedication to the practice of law has earned him an "A/V" rating from his peers, the highest rating an attorney may receive.

Active in Missouri politics for over twenty-five years, Kevin is past president of the Missouri Association of Republicans. He is past president and a board member of Catholic Family Services, a division of Catholic Charities, as well as past president and emeritus director of Missouri K.I.D.S. (Missourians who Kare for Injured and Disabled Students), a charitable foundation providing financial assistance to student-athletes who suffer disabling injuries.

Kevin has been actively involved in sports throughout his life.  During college, Kevin was a scholarship player for the University of Missouri in Columbia basketball team and St. Louis University basketball team.  Kevin is the  General Counsel for the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame.  Kevin and his wife, Julie, have three daughters and a son.

Robert J. Krehbiel

Bob Krehbiel has been practicing law since 1980.  His practice includes all facets of litigation, from the pleading stage through trial and appeal.  Bob represents employers and municipal entities, typically in cases involving civil rights and employment discrimination claims.  He has handled numerous cases in both federal and state court, as well as before government agencies.  Bob is "A/V" rated, which is the highest rating an attorney can achieve.

Bob is an experienced public speaker, having presented numerous seminars on workplace harassment and employment discrimination to various private employers, as well as seminars on municipal liability for civil rights claims to the Municipal Law Subcommittee of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. He has been recognized by Legal Services of Eastern Missouri for his years of service to the Volunteer Lawyers’ Program.

Following college and before attending law school, Bob served two years with the United States Peace Corps in India.  Bob then worked at the Military Personnel Records Center in St Louis for over three and a half years.

William A. Hellmich

Mr. Hellmich, a principal with the firm, and "A/V" rated, handles a wide-variety of litigation. He represents individuals in serious personal injury and medical malpractice claims as well as all types of employment cases.

He has established a significant practice in real estate litigation, defending real estate agents and brokers in both Missouri and Illinois state and federal courts.

In addition, Mr. Hellmich has a substantial insurance defense practice with an emphasis on personal injury, title, civil rights, and employment discrimination claims.

Mediation Services

Bill has added mediation services to his practice, having completed the comprehensive mediation training course and certification to conduct mediations at both the state and federal court level. Bill is on the approved mediator list for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri as well as the various state courts in the region.

For over 35 years now, Bill has been a civil litigator in the St. Louis area. His practice has a substantial emphasis in the areas of real estate (including title insurance work), civil rights, employment discrimination, personal injury, non-compete, shareholder derivative, and other business disputes. Bill has tried hundreds of both jury and judge-tried cases. While a majority of his practice has been from a defense perspective, Bill has also handled and tried numerous plaintiff's cases in the personal injury, employment discrimination and commercial litigation areas. In short, he knows both sides of the table, and can leverage that experience to help you achieve settlement.

Daniel J. McNamee

Dan McNamee handles an array of litigation matters for individuals, businesses and public entities and advises clients on corporate, real estate and other business related concerns.

Dan has successfully prosecuted and defended cases through all phases of litigation, including contract disputes, civil rights, premises liability, and employment cases in both state and federal courts. His practice also includes foreclosure, bankruptcy and creditor’s rights. Whatever the matter, Dan strives to offer a comprehensive and cost-effective approach to his clients’ needs.

Dan is a volunteer lawyer with the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and participates in various projects with Habitat for Humanity. Dan resides in St. Louis County with his wife, Victoria, and son Colin.

Blake D. Hill

Blake Hill joined the firm in 2010, becoming a partner in 2013. His practice covers a variety of civil litigation in state and federal courts including civil rights, municipal law, wrongful death, personal injury, creditor rights, title law, foreclosure law, bankruptcy, consumer law and business law.  He has successfully advocated for his clients through every phase of litigation including trial and appeals.

Blake was recently honored to be named one of Missouri Lawyers Weekly's Up & Coming lawyers 2017.

Outside of the office, Blake enjoys art, music, woodworking, and writing.  Blake lives in St. Louis County with his wife and sons.

Jason S. Retter

Jason is a litigator, representing individuals, corporations, and public entities in a wide variety of civil matters.  Jason’s practice is substantially focused on the defense of civil rights cases, employment discrimination cases, and municipal liability cases.  Jason has significant experience managing all aspects of litigation, from initial filings through trial and appeal.

Jason has handled dozens of civil rights cases and employment discrimination cases, and he has successfully tried a number of such cases before juries in federal and state courts.  He has also argued on behalf of his clients before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Prior to joining King, Krehbiel & Hellmich, LLC, Jason was an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Missouri.  At the Attorney General’s Office, Jason was a member of the Litigation Division in St. Louis, where he defended the State of Missouri, state agencies, and state officials in defense of civil lawsuits, including for employment discrimination (e.g., MHRA, Title VII, and ADA), constitutional rights claims (e.g Section 1983), wrongful death claims, and other tort actions.
 

While in law school, Jason was a member of the Washington University Journal of Law & Policy and a member of the law school’s Public Service Advisory Board.  Jason and his wife live in Kirkwood, Missouri, and they both enjoy traveling, photography, and a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and backpacking.

John M. Reeves

John joined the firm as a partner in 2018. Having served for six-and-a-half years as an Assistant Missouri Attorney General, he has developed substantial experience in appellate and civil rights defense litigation. John has authored over 255 appellate brief and has conducted oral arguments in the Eastern, Western, and Southern Divisions of the Missouri Court of Appeals, as well as the Missouri Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. John also has significant briefing practice in the United States Supreme Court, including an application for emergency stay of proceedings to Justice Neil Gorsuch and a petition for a writ of certiorari.

In addition, John regularly oversees high-volume e-discovery and related document production.

John and his wife reside with their children in St. Louis County. Outside of the office, he enjoys visiting the Missouri Botanical Garden, listening to classical music via RAF St. Louis, cheering on the Cardinals, and reading history.

Rachel A. Bates

Rachel Bates joined the firmed in 2017. Her practice covers a variety of civil litigation in state and federal courts including civil rights, municipal law, employment law and wrongful death. Prior to joining the firm, Rachel spent seven years with the Federal Bureau of Investigation focusing on asset forfeiture investigations.

 

Outside of the office, Rachel enjoys running, in addition to cooking and experiencing gourmet cuisine. Rachel is an active volunteer for the Ericka Wade Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises funds for Shriners Hospitals for Children -- St. Louis. Rachel lives in St. Louis with her husband, two sons and daughter.
